Wu Guangwen, Deputy Secretary of the Yueyang County Party Committee and County Mayor, attended the opening ceremony. Yin Zheng, Secretary-General of the Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics Branch of the Chinese Ceramic Society, delivered the opening speech. More than 140 experts and participants from the industry attended the event.

At the opening ceremony, Wu Guangwen congratulated the forum on its convening. He stated: Currently, the new material industry is experiencing strong momentum and has become a strategic and fundamental industry in the national economy, serving as the "chassis" for modern manufacturing. In particular, new polyurethane composite materials represent an important direction for the future development of the new material industry. How to promote the multi-scenario application and multi-technology integration of polyurethane composite materials is a significant topic worthy of in-depth research. He hoped that experts, scholars, and friends from the business community would provide insights and advice for the development of the new material industry in Yueyang County, offering more innovative reform strategies, sound development plans, and valuable suggestions. At the same time, he also hoped that the high-tech park and relevant departments directly under the county would take this opportunity to establish closer cooperative relationships with experts and scholars, strengthen technical exchanges, enhance project cooperation, and jointly promote the higher-quality development of the new material industry in Yueyang County.

In recent years, Yueyang County has identified building materials, home furnishing, and new materials as one of the three emerging advantageous industrial chains in the county. It has continuously optimized its layout, strengthened industrial cooperation, and made breakthroughs in key technologies. Significant progress has been made in the development of new materials, with 102 existing enterprises, including 63 enterprises above designated size, achieving a revenue of 11.665 billion yuan in 2021. Currently, Yueyang County has formed an industrial pattern featuring the agglomeration and development of five characteristic industries: building materials, new wall materials, new pavement materials, prefabricated components, polyurethane, and composite materials. The innovation capabilities and competitive advantages of enterprises are continuously improving.

At the meeting, multiple experts gave lectures, and the participants also visited Hunan Qiangtai New Material Co., Ltd. to observe the processes of polyurethane pultrusion, winding, injection molding, and other techniques on site.
